What's Included in the Registration Fee?

Your player's fee provides:

  • A league-issued t-shirt and hat for all baseball programs.
  •
  • Access to practices, games, and tournament opportunities (Spring season).
  •
  • Insurance coverage through Little League International (excess accident policy—see our ASAP Safety Plan for details).
  •
  • Use of shared equipment (e.g., bases, catcher's gear) during team activities.
  •

Note: Fees do not include personal equipment (see below) or optional add-ons like extra uniforms.

Required Equipment for Your Player

To ensure safety and readiness, players need the following (available at local sports stores or online—coaches can advise on sizing during tryouts/practices):

  • Glove: Appropriate for the player's position and age.
  • Baseball pants, socks, and belt: Check with your coach for team-specific colors (typically white pants with colored accents).
  • Batting helmet: Properly fitted for safety (coaches can help determine the right length and weight).
  • Bat: League-approved (USA Baseball certified); coaches can recommend the right length and weight based on your child's age and skill.

We recommend purchasing from reputable sources to meet Little League standards. Helmets and bats must be inspected before use.

Player Eligibility

Arvin Little League follows Little League International rules for age and residency. Your child's league age is determined by their age as of August 31, 2025 (use the official League Age Calculator for confirmation).

T-Ball programs are for players 4-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding.

Coach-Pitch programs are for players 6-7  (with an option for 5-6 year old's with one year of Tee Ball experience) years of age who want to expand their knowledge of baseball in a competitive setting.

Minors programs are for players 8-11 year old's who want to prepare for an eventual selection to a major division team. Option for Allstars.

Intermediate (50/70) programs are for players 11-13 who want a transitional program using 50 foot pitching distance and 70 foot base paths and offers a full range of tournament play, including World Series.

  • T-Ball players can register for any Little League program, regardless of where they live or attend school. No residency proof required—open to all!
  • Coach Pitch, Minors and Intermediate: Must reside within our league boundaries (covering most of Arvin and parts of Bakersfield). Use the Little League Finder to check eligibility by entering your address.

    • If No League Shows Up: If the Finder doesn't list a league for your address but you'd like to join Arvin Little League, email us at [email protected]. We'll assist with securing a boundary waiver through our District Administrator. Waivers are reviewed case-by-case for hardships (e.g., no local league available) and approved by Little League International's Charter Committee.
    •

Important: All players must provide a birth certificate to verify age. Outstanding balances from previous seasons must be paid in full before any family member can register or be drafted.

Registration Requirements

To complete registration:

  1. Birth Certificate: Upload a copy for ALL players (required for age verification).
  2. Residency/School Enrollment (Ages 8+ Only):
    • Provide 2 proofs of residency (e.g., utility bill, lease agreement dated within the last year) OR School Enrollment Form (easiest option—available on our site or from your child's school).
    • Ages 3-6: No residency proof needed. (T-ball Players, return Ball players and siblings of those t-ball players)
  3. Payment: Full or first payment via online portal.
  4. Volunteer Application (Optional but encouraged): If you're interested in coaching or umpiring, complete a background-checked application.

Your registration is not final until documents are uploaded and payment is complete. Use our secure online portal at arvinlittleleague.org/register

Choosing a Division

  • Enter your child's birthdate during registration to see available divisions (based on league age).
  • You can select any open division, but upper levels (e.g., Minors, Majors) require prior experience and skill evaluation.
  • Division Placement: Initial signup doesn't guarantee the selected division. Final placement is determined by Little League rules, team numbers, age, and skill assessments (e.g., tryouts or coach evaluations). This ensures balanced teams and fair play.
  •

Refer to the Little League Age Charts for division guidelines.

Season Schedule Overview

  • Season Opener: March 14th (weather permitting)
  • Season Start: First week of September 2026 (weather permitting). Practices begin 1-2 weeks prior for formed teams.
  • Season End: Mid November 2026 (exact date TBD based on tournament qualifications).
  • Games: Played on weeknights (typically Tuesdays-Thursdays) at local fields like Kovacevich or DiGiorgio Park.
  • Practices: 1-2 sessions per week (1-1.5 hours each), scheduled by coaches based on field availability. We aim for at least one weeknight slot per team, but practices can be at school fields or shared with other teams for flexibility.

ASAP Safety Plan for player protection.
